Studio Maternity Session at Floral Luxe

I feel like studio sessions are becoming more and more popular. I think it’s due to the modern elegance it brings to the images. It’s simple and powerful. And when you add in the powerful beauty of a woman growing a baby it’s DYNAMITE.

I was extended an invitation to the first studio series at FloralLuxe’s new studio space in Santa Rosa. Christina is a mastermind with her floral arrangements and installations. I was blown away by the different installation options available to photographers in attendance.

When I was invited to the studio series day, I immediately felt called to an elegant maternity session (and mommy + mini… I’ll show you more of that later!). I put out a model call on Instagram and was introduced via referral to Savannah. Savannah is in her third trimester getting ready to meet her baby girl. I’m biased, but baby girls are the best 😉 We immediately hit it off and she mentioned that she hasn’t done a great job at documenting her pregnancy and time was slipping away. I knew she was the right fit for this fun project.

We collaborated on a few outfit ideas but for the most part, Savannah did all of the styling herself. At the end of the day, I wanted these photos to be REAL and exactly how my clients would approach their maternity session.
